My brother sent me the article in the April 14th "Oregonian" because I am a very active volkssporter. A friend now living in Germany let me know the terms used there -- the "Round Long Distance Trail"(Rundwanderweg in German) or "Long Distance Way" (Weitwanderweg) linear trails. Several friends have walked Britain using their multiple National Trails with volkssporting credit supplied by the British Walking Federation.

I would like very much to "sanction" these trail segments as American Volkssport Association (AVA) routes with International (IVV) credit. This may be a help in getting international volkssporters who want IVV certification. And there are a few of us, who would hike segments of the trail and would enjoy the "bed to bed" concept.

The AVA can supply their logo for your website. The Oregon Trails State Volkssport Association can provide the sanctioning mechanism and I can be a point of contact for any AVA sanctioned trail segments.

I'd like very much to discuss this. Please contact me.

I don't see any news about this trail since 2009. Is there any news?

No offense, but if there's a facebook like button, it'll be much easier for me to share.

Sounds like a really cool trail. Alan
